Netball Alberta Residency in PE May 5-9
We are pleased to offer netball instruction for all students through Netball Alberta during the week of May 5-9. This residency is possible through the generosity of the Woodlands School Council – it is free for all students.
Netball is a team sport played by two teams of seven players on a rectangular court with a goal at each end. The objective is to score by throwing the ball through a ring attached to a post, while preventing the opposing team from scoring. It involves passing, shooting, and strategic movement, with players assigned specific positions and movement restrictions.
Whole School Photo – May 12 10:30 am
Lifetouch will be taking our whole school photo at 10:30 am on Monday, May 12. This photo will be available for families to purchase from Lifetouch. To order your photo, go to mylifetouch.ca. Picture Day Id: EVCZVRZWK. Cost is $15.00 (plus 5% sales tax). Photo orders are due before May 12 to ensure delivery for year end. A large whole school photo will be displayed at Woodlands School for years to come.
Bell Times Adjustment and Transportation for 2025-2026
Alberta Education’s School Transportation Amendment Regulation means the travel distance (1.6 km for K-6) must now be calculated by the driving distance from a student’s home to the front door of the school. Changes to walk zones across the CBE have resulted in school bell time adjustments to accommodate increased in transportation.
Woodlands’ bell times for 2025-26 will be:
Morning | Afternoon | Early Dismissal |
8:35 AM | 3:07 PM | 12:40 PM |
On May 7, we expect that a message will be sent to all families from CBE about the change in walk zones/transportation zones with an explanation of the changes. Walk Zone maps (including one for Woodlands School) should be available on that date on the CBE website, Find a School Tool.
Beginning May 8, transportation registration for eligible riders will be available in your MyCBE account.
