Woodlands School Council - Healthy Hunger – Fun Lunch!
School Council has once again organized, an available for purchase lunch, for students in Grades 1-6 through Healthy Hunger. Upcoming dates for these lunches are:

Scholastic Book Fair
It’s almost here! Our school’s Scholastic Book Fair will begin soon! Students will be scheduled time to browse and shop at our school on Monday, March 17 & Wednesday, March 19. There will be no parent event this year with Parent-Teacher Conferences being online due to limited access to schools after hours.

Your Voice Matters
Survey of Woodlands School Community Regarding Before and After School Child Care We would like to invite families to help us understand the need for possible before and after child care offered by a vendor, located at Woodlands School. The survey is now open and will conclude on Friday, April 4. Thank-you for your feedback.
Alberta Education Assurance Survey
The Alberta Education Assurance Survey is administered each year by Alberta Education to teachers, students and parents. It provides an opportunity to give feedback on what is working well and what challenges exist in education in Alberta. At Woodlands, our students in Grades 4-6 will participate in the survey in class during the month of February. Parents, the survey link and access code was emailed to you from the CBE. If you come to the pop-in meeting below, please bring your link and access code.
Parents, information about our school budget and our School Development Plan has been shared on our website and will be shared at the School Council meeting on March 5. We invite you to complete the survey about 3 school planning for 2025-26 in these key areas at the School Engagement Survey link above. Parents, you are invited you stop in on March 14 from 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM to complete the above surveys at school, have a coffee and a treat and visit with school admin. Please RSVP if you plan to attend at woodlands@cbe.ab.ca
School Conferences – Progress Update
Our School Conference will be held the evening of Thursday, March 20 and in the morning on Friday, March 21. Due to the current labour action involving some CBE school staff, these meetings will be held online. Conferences are an opportunity for teachers to update parents and guardians on their child’s progress. Parents/guardians can book their 15 minute conference time on-line using MyCBE starting 8 AM Saturday, March 15, until March 19 at noon. Request for Materials
We are looking for materials to inspire imaginations and support creative thinking skills in our Learning Commons space. These experiences will support a range of skills and allow students to build their understanding of materials, art-based mediums and STEM challenges. Can you help us start building our collection of materials? The following is a list of materials we require. Please send in with your child prior to spring break.
- Ribbon- fabric and plastic
- Fabric- 3cm x 30cm strips (we are happy to cut the strips if you send in the fabricJ)
- Yarn- various widths
- Wire- various gauges
From the City of Calgary... We invite all Calgary students in Kindergarten to Grade 12 to create an original 30-second video to promote safety while traveling on city streets, 4 sidewalks and/or pathways. Videos can be funny, serious, live action, stop motion, animated or a mix of styles – whatever you can imagine! You could win prizes and a chance to have your video showcased on the City’s social media accounts and on calgary.ca.
