Labour Action Information
On Oct. 6, the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA) provided formal notice that it will commence a lockout on Oct. 9, 2025, at 1 p.m. This means the Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) cannot shift to other forms of labour action and will remain off the job until a settlement is reached.
Classes remain cancelled. Families should not send their children to school.
All contingency plans remain in place until labour action is resolved. Most before and after school care providers continue to run in CBE schools.
We are committed to keeping you informed as the situation evolves. The most up-to-date information will continue to be posted on the labour action page on the CBE website.
School Council Meeting
Meeting was to be held on October 22. Due to the ongoing labour action, it has been postponed, stay tuned for a new date! Reach out to woodlandsschoolcouncilyyc@gmail.com with any questions.
Woodlands School Council Halloween Dance – is still a go!
- October 23, 6 PM – 8 PM
- Adults are free, children are $5.00 each.
Every child must be accompanied by a trusted adult guardian for the duration of the event.
If you haven’t handed in your dance forms yet — no worries! Tickets will also be available at the door this year. We’ll be accepting cash and card payments at the event.
See the Halloween Family Dance post for more information.
In the event that there is still labour action with Alberta teachers on October 23, this event will still proceed as it is a Woodlands School Council hosted event, rather than a school sponsored event.
We’re still looking for a few more volunteers to help make this event happen. If you’re available, please sign up here: Halloween Dance Volunteers Please Sign Up
