Netball

Netball Alberta conducts school clinics throughout Alberta teaching netball. We are excited to bring this fast-paced, strategic game into the school and find that students learn it quickly and enjoy it immensely.  The instruction will take place during phys ed classes through the day, the Netball Alberta clinician will teach the game in a progression based approach that is geared to the age group involved. The classroom teacher will be present to supervise instruction.  This netball instruction will address the overarching Alberta Education curriculum outcomes for physical education for all grade levels:

  • contributes to the development of life skills for the personal management of health,
  • for the use of physical activity as a strategy for managing life challenges,
  • and for a setting within which to practise the ability to work with others.
  • The program provides an equitable opportunity for all students to realize the benefits of participation in physical activity.

The dates for this instruction are:  February 12, 13, 14, 20 and 21

Thank-you to the Woodlands School Parent Council for their generous funding of this active learning experience for all students.
