Casino | Thank-you!
Thank you so much to Woodlands School Council for organizing the event on February 22 and 23. Thanks also to the parent volunteers who took on a shift during the casino! Your support truly makes a difference—casino fundraisers are one of the most impactful ways Alberta schools can raise money, and our community benefits in so many meaningful ways. The students and staff at Woodlands are very appreciative of everyone who supported the casino.
Fun facts about AGLC‑supported casino fundraising:
- 💡 Schools typically earn between $60,000–$80,000 per casino event, which directly funds learning supports, technology, field trips, residencies, and enrichment opportunities.
- 🎒 Every volunteer shift helps unlock these funds—AGLC requires volunteers in every position for the school to qualify for the full casino payout.
- 🏫 These funds allow schools like Woodlands to offer programs and resources that would not be possible through regular funding alone.
Preparation for Swimming Grades 1-4 | March 9-13
Students will need their swimsuit, towel, and a bag for wet clothes for their daily swim times during this week. There are often lost items recovered in change rooms during swimming, so please label items and encourage your student to keep track of all their belongings.
Thank-you in advance for parent volunteers who are joining this learning experience and to our School Council for their generous support of the cost of bussing for this experience.
