Emergency Response Plans
We hope all families have received the email from CBE on February 11, expressing condolences to the community of Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in BC. This email included community resource supports for students and families experiencing grief and trauma around this event. If you did not receive this message, please let us know and we will forward it to you.
So far in the 2025-26 school year, we have conducted 3 fire drills and have scheduled 3 more to meet CBE required 6 drills per year. Lockdowns are scheduled and supervised by Calgary Police Service. Woodlands School prepares and reviews with staff an emergency response plan each year outlining processes for emergency procedures like fire drills and lockdowns.

Woodlands School Casino Fundraiser
Support Woodlands School by volunteering at the school casino fundraiser on Sunday, February 22 or Monday, February 23, 2026. Casino fundraising is one of our largest sources of funding, directly supporting student experiences and school resources. We appreciate your help in making this important event a success. Alberta Education and Childcare Assurance Survey
Alberta Education and Childcare will once again conduct its annual survey of grade 4, 7, and 10 students and their parents or guardians. This survey will gather essential information about students’ and parents’ school experiences, helping to drive continuous improvements in our education system. This survey will remain open until March 6, 2026. Parents or guardians of students in grade 4, 5, and 6 should have received an email from CBE School Improvement containing a link to the survey, along with a unique Random-Access Code and detailed instructions. Students in grade 4, 5, and 6 and teachers will complete the survey at school. If you have questions or do not receive a code, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Child Care Tax Receipts – Lunch Supervision
Child Care Tax Receipts for CBE Lunch Supervision (January 2025–December 2025) are now available through MyCBE.
- Please download and/or print your online receipt to include with your 2025 tax return. Paper copies are no longer provided. If you do not already have a MyCBE account, please create one to access your receipt. MyCBE > Fees, Waivers & Service Registrations > Menu (three lines) > Tax Receipts

Report Cards | Available Online February 24
Families will be able to view online student report cards for Kindergarten to Grade 12 on February 24, 2026. This is about one month later than usual. The extended time is due to the labour action time away from school in October. Report cards may be viewed, downloaded and/or printed. Parents and Guardians can sign in to MyCBE to view report cards.
Pink Shirt Day
On Wednesday, Feb. 25, wear a pink shirt to help spread kindness and a sense of belonging! Pink Shirt Day
Winter Play Day
Our school Winter Play Day will be full of fun and activity for students in Grade 1-6., on Thursday, February 26 in the afternoon. More information to learn what you need to know about this day!
- Dress for the weather; wear layers
- Have boots, mitts and hats
- Bring a hearty lunch and snack on this day
Hot chocolate station - if you prefer for your student not to have the hot chocolate, please communicate this to your child’s teacher.
Scholastic Book Fair
We’re excited to announce that our school will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair, which will take place from March 16 – March 20 at Woodlands School in the Learning Commons. The Book Fair empowers our students to choose books they love!
