Woodlands School Council Meeting – Wednesday, November 19 6:30 PM

A warm welcome to all parents who wish to attend the Woodlands School Council Meeting. At this meeting we will share data from last year’s school goals and priority goals for 2025-26, info about upcoming events and volunteer opportunities. These meetings are an excellent way to connect with other Woodlands parents if you attend in person, but you can also attend online.

Healthy Hunger Fun Lunches

School Council | Healthy Hunger Fun Lunches

This year, Woodlands School Council will organize ‘fun lunches” through the Healthy Hunger application. Click on the link above for more information on ordering (place your order 5 days in advance). If your student is absent on the day of the Fun Lunch, we will hold the lunch for you to pick up if you contact the school before lunch on that day otherwise the lunch will be donated or discarded.

The following lunches are planned so far:

  • November 20 – Boston Pizza
  • December 18 – Waffles & Chix
  • February 18 – Coco Brooks Pizza
  • March 18 – McDonald’s

School Conferences

School Conferences will be held the evening of Thursday, November 27 (kindergarten will have times available during the day) and in the morning on Friday, November 28; EES families will be able to book the evenings of November 25, 26 and 27. These meetings will be held in person at Woodlands School and are an important component of our reporting process to parents. The conference is designed as an opportunity for teachers to update parents and guardians on their child’s progress. Parents/guardians can book their 15 minute conference time on-line using MyCBE starting Saturday, November 22, until Tuesday, November 25.

  • Ms. Kyra, our Music teacher is available for appointments on Friday, November 28 only.

How To Book a Conference

 Woodlands’ Outdoor Classroom

We’re thrilled to announce the near completion of our brand-new Outdoor Classroom - a vibrant, hands-on learning space designed to connect students with nature and spark curiosity beyond the walls of the school.

This special area features comfortable seating of Kootenai Brownstone boulders, and surrounding trees and shrubs that invite exploration, creativity, and collaboration. Teachers will use the space for learning connections before and after visits to Fish Creek Park, science investigations, reading circles, art projects, and more—helping students discover that learning truly happens everywhere!

A heartfelt thank you to our Woodlands School Council who made this project possible. Your generosity and hard work have created a lasting resource that will inspire students for years to come.

Stay tuned for our official opening event and updates as our classes begin using the space.

Woodlands Winter Showcase Evening – December 18

Please come and enjoy a short performance and winter themed artwork in the Woodlands gym according to the following schedule.

  • 5:30 – 6:15 PM (Ms. Melbourn, Ms. Hogan and Ms. Nicholas)
  • 6:15 – 7:00 PM (Ms. Kuehner, Mr. Smith, Ms. Krahn and Ms. Nicolaou)
  • 7:00 – 7:30 PM (Mr. Herold, Mr. Camden and Ms. Ellis)
  • We will be collecting items and donations for Woodcreek Community Pantry December 8 – 19.  We are happy to accept new, non-perishable food items, toiletry items, diapers, grocery gift cards and cash donations anytime during this window.

Kananaskis in the Classroom – 9:00 AM Whole School Performance – Weather the Storm

When it comes to weather, the sun is calling the shots. Come see what happens when she gets angry at a hiker who relies on ‘Gooble’ for updates on the weather over her. Learn the ins and outs of weather and how it works and meet some fun characters along the way!

The performance will inspire curiosity and connect audiences to the natural world. Students are engaged in curriculum through catchy music, exciting costumed characters and audience participation.  Presentation includes a 50-minute theatrical show for the whole school (K-6) and four follow-up sessions to allow students to delve deeper into the topic with activities, props and hands-on exploration.

Remember to Pay your School Fees

After mid-October, all student fees are available for payment through MyCBE accounts. This includes:

  • School Supply Fee
  • Lunch Supervision Fee – for students staying for lunch
  • Transportation Fee – for students using the bus
  • Fieldtrip Fees – assigned throughout the year (fieldtrip forms will indicate if there is a fee)
