The students in Grade 5 and 6 students will be participating in Outdoor School next school year as part of the Active Living component of the Physical Education and Wellness curriculum. Woodlands School offers this camp experience to students every two years.
Students will be participating in the Outdoor School Program from October 7 to 10, 2024, which will takes place at Camp Chef Hector. For more than 30 years, Camp Chief Hector YMCA has been running overnight outdoor school experiences that provide unique opportunities for enhancing curriculum objectives, building communication and cooperative group skills, and providing a shared experience for students of different backgrounds.
The students will be leaving Woodlands School on Monday, October 7 and will be returning back to the school on Thursday, October 10.
The cost of the Outdoor School four-day program will be approximately $345.00 + GST per child. Subsidies and waivers will be available for families requiring financial assistance.
Archery, ropes course, exploration day hikes, team building tasks, trees and forests curriculum connections, sky science and survival skills are a few of the activities students will participate in while at camp.

There is a mandatory meeting which must be attended by a parent/guardian on Monday, September 9, 2024. Please plan on attending this meeting in the evening if you wish for your child to attend Outdoor School.
